Celebrity Apprentice 2, Episode 4-ReWind… T-boz

…Tionne “T-boz” Watkins

In episode 4 of Celebrity Apprentice 2 (March 22, 2009), Team Athena (the women’s team), suffered their first loss, after 3 straight weeks of winning tasks. Both teams had to produce a live event to launch ACN’s Iris 3000 Videophone. Athena’s project manager was Claudia Jordan, and the men’s project manager (KOTU), was Brian McKnight. KOTU won by a landslide after receiving 85% of the audience votes. This was overwhelmingly due to Brian McKnight’s stage performance that stole the show. This brought brought up the very valid question—Why didn’t T-boz perform?
Tionne’s presence on Episode 4, was much improved from Episode 3, however the drama came when Donald Trump asked Tionne why she didn’t perform like Brian McKnight did for the task, considering she was the only singer on the female team—Donald felt that Tionne should have held some accountability however. T mentioned that she would have loved to perform if she was asked to do so. Online bonus footage revealed that Claudia Jordan was grilled once again in the boardroom, as to why she didn’t bring Tionne in for elimination. Donald believed that Tionne should have shown more initiative. Despite not singing, T worked hard on the task, including being very instrumental in the execution of the sound mix. She had this to say about the episode…
“Well they did show me more at least huh? Okay what do ya’ll think about the Claudia and Melissa argument? I do this, I do that… I have never been an “I” person. The proof is in the pudding.
But I guess on that show that’s what you do to get people to recognize the talents you have or should I say supposedly have. Anywho I thought the treatment to Dennis was unfair by Brian McKnight. Even though he got in Clint’s face, that was over and there should have been no reason why Brian didn’t use Dennis’ monitor hook-up for free.
And I won’t even bother breaking down each little task I did to bring it all together because of course they didn’t show it as usual. But one thing I had to do, was to make the music link up with the video with the ITunes playlist which was hard and fun all at the same time. But shots out to Puffy who lent me his videographer for the short films we did for the presentation. Once again no mention of that either but hey that’s why I have a mouth piece to spread it ALL.
Well once again a lot of hard work gone unnoticed but another episode under my belt without getting fired. Next week I am Project Manager so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Will I make it?”
Things got a little ugly online as Annie Dukes Twittered live during the episode—”I think Claudia was too close with Tionne so didn’t hear the suggestion. Tionned was Claudia’s only hope for staying though.” What broke the camels back was this comment, “…trust me…Tionne didn’t want to sing.” Tionne had this response…
Let’s elaborate a little more. Annie is a damn lie. They didn’t ask me to sing and to be frank EVERY last single time there was a task with a performance or speech or ANYTHING. Melissa goes my mom can do it JOAN this and JOAN that. And Annie was right along with her on the Joan band wagon, “Yeah Joan”. If she had nuts Annie would have been swinging off of them.
So let’s not get it twisted they thought they knew everything and didn’t want to listen so I would just be quiet and try my best to do whatever I could to help on what was being decided. I wasn’t going to argue about some job I really don’t do, but I will always work hard. So I helped Melissa out.
Now Donald did ask why Claudia didn’t bring me back in the board room for not singing. But I wouldn’t have went home for not doing what I was never asked to do nor did Claudia mention it either, which is fine. But yes of course I could have flown Chilli in and Waterfalled it all across that stage it’s nothing. So Ms. Duke (Annie) no one is scared to perform I would have loved too. But I would like to know when I was asked. That must of been in one of her dreams soooooooo I repeat I still wouldn’t have went home because the job I was asked to do, I did it and did it well and it wasn’t singing because for the last time I WAS NEVER ASKED TOO! I have been doing this for 18 years I can do that in my sleep. But they never gave me the respect of asking and I don’t go around telling people I do this and I do that. If I mention it and you shoot it down without really hearing me out then okay. I’m not pushing myself on nobody especially a whole bunch of women who THINK they know everything and really don’t.
But for future references maybe they should CHECK MY RESUME! That speaks for itself. Don’t push the blame over here like a concert was going to save the day when you guys wanted a comedy show. So since the idea sucked and no one wanted to hear anybody else’s ideas…. Don’t be a sore loser just suck it up because remember you know everything right? I have mad respect for Joan Rivers don’t get me wrong she did a great job and this is in no way a diss to her or her talent. I’m just speaking on the facts.
Oh and by the way what did singing Waterfalls have to do with promoting the video phone anyway????? Oh yeah and to Claudia’s response poor thang had to say something since she didn’t think of asking me 2 perform even though it wasn’t a singing contest. But sweets how could I NOT have a strong solo voice when that’s ALL I’ve done when I lead verses and hooks on TLC’s songs. Ohhhhh I guess she didn’t check my resume either. LOL!
